nudity | Would probably be PG-13: for Disturbing Violent Content, and Brief Language A man calls his mother out for having conceived him in a hotel room with a man she didn't know. |
violence | An opening scene shows Jane intentionally hitting Blanche with her car, paralyzing her. No faces shown. No blood or bodies. Jane gradually goes insane as the film progresses. In one scene, Jane kicks Blanche repeatedly. In a further attempt to prevent Blanche from getting the word out, Jane ties her to the bed and tapes her mouth. Jane kills a woman by striking her in the neck with a hammer. No blood throughout the entire movie, though implied violence is high. |
profanity | A woman mouths bitch and says damn and crap. Hell is used frequently. Nothing serious. |
alcohol | Edwin Flagg is an alcoholic and drinks vast amounts of liquor at once. References to being drunk. |
frightening | Blanche is served a dead budgie for lunch by Jane. She is also served a rat later on in the film, although the impact of this is lessened after seeing the first incident, and right before this second incident Jane says 'by the way, we have rats in the cellar' |
