nudity | Nothing sexual, but Wendy changes her clothing and we see her underclothes. |
violence | No violence. |
profanity | Nearly a dozen f-words, a couple s-words, and God's name is misused at least once. |
alcohol | Some marijuana is used. |
frightening | The overall feeling of the movie is somber, and at times, depressing. It could be quite controversial for families suffering with unemployment, separation, etc. There are a few creepy scenes, involving strangers interacting with Wendy. A few scenes also carry a frightening element, with Wendy being alone. Wendy is imprisoned briefly, and separated from Lucy (her dog) for 3/4 of the movie. The movie gets pretty emotional after the separation. They re-unite at the end. But Wendy decides it is better for Lucy to stay with the adoptive family, than to suffer the hardships they faced again. However Wendy promises to return one day. |
