nudity | The extended, uncensored version has more nudity (no graphic detail). A woman, asking for a favor, drops her clothes for a man. The sides of her breasts can briefly be seen, as well as her butt. In the uncut version, we can clearly see her bare buttocks for an extended time. A man and a woman kiss three times throughout the movie. In one instance they are implied to have sex. A woman is used by two men as a bargaining chip; a man wants to have sex with her, she is unwillingly, and that man is stopped by the other man, who changed his mind. |
violence | The extended, uncensored version has more violence (very little blood). Numerous people are shot, stabbed, beaten, and blown up at multiple points during the action scenes. Some people are pierced with arrows, others are stabbed with knives, others are shot with guns and rifles. The scenes are moderately violent, but never bloody or gorey (especially in the censored version). The bad guys are violent, merciless and sadistic, and often attack and kill other people. They also kidnap and mistreat a little girl, who is later slapped by one of them. In one scene, they put up a trap using dead people as marionettes, manipulating them with strings; those people are hung and have their eyes open, it is pretty disturbing to watch. One man has a harpoon shot through his foot; another is speared through the chest (both scenes are removed from the extended version). A group of people is about to drown a man in corrosive goo, but he is saved. During a funeral, a woman's dead body is seen being immersed in a pool full of a corrosive green substance. A woman is almost raped by man, but he is stopped. Another man then fights with him and kills him. A little girl is thrown in the water by a man. |
profanity | One "fu**" (barely audible), several "sh**"s, "damn"s, and a couple of "Goddamn"s (most of the swearing is heard in the extended version). |
alcohol | Many of the "Smokers" (the bad guys) smoke cigarettes. Their leader gives away packs of cigarettes to earn the appreciation of his followers. A man drinks at a bar. |
frightening | The movie takes place in a post-apocalyptic world; drinkable water is lacking, people suffer and die, evil men attack others for resources. Some action scenes are intense, there are explosions, stabbings and shootings, lots of people are killed. The scene where the villains use dead people as marionettes is disturbing. A little girl is kidnapped by bad men and held hostage; she is mistreated, threathened and goes through situations of peril. The main villain's appearance could be frightening for children. The main male character sometimes behaves rudely to a woman and a little girl. In one instance he throws the little girl in the water. A man drinks his own urine. Rated PG-13 for: violence, intense action scenes, brief nudity and sexuality, some strong language. |
