nudity | Although several unmarried couples appear to be having sex on a regular basis, they are never shown doing so. There is a scene set at what appears to be a cat-house, but it doesn't seem to be during business hours. |
violence | The film is about a bunch of relentless thugs on a police force. Thuggery ensues. There are drunken barroom brawls that spill into the street and leave people dead and property destroyed. There is police intimidation, shakedowns, and killings of innocent people (usually by gunshot). Police are shot and killed, sometimes by other policemen. There is a shoot-out that travels all over from hill to dell. Several people are blown up. Cars burst into balls of fire. A man is electrocuted and dies. Grenades are thrown into buildings. It is only by chance that the whole town doesn't go up in flames, literally. There's also a cockfight. Both the birds get shot. |
profanity | The S-word is used eight times. There is an angry reference to "faggot music." There are a few slang anatomical terms and a smattering of religious quasi-profanities. |
alcohol | There's a whole lot of drankin' in this movie. Sometimes whole crowds of people get quite drunk and become unruly. A middle-age man is shown waiting to sell pills to elementary school children. (It may sound preposterous, but it's actually there.) Cigarette smoking and cigar chomping can occasionally be seen in the background. |
frightening | A few of the killings might be a little unnerving and sad. The lengthy shootout sequence also has some pretty tense moments as the violence escalates to levels almost beyond belief. |
