Sam (Andrew Garfield) is a disappointed 33-year-old who finds a secretive lady, Sarah (Riley Keough), skipping in his flat's swimming pool. When she vanishes, Sam sets out on a dreamlike journey crosswise over Los Angeles to disentangle the mystery behind her vanishing, driving him into the murkiest profundities of puzzle, outrage, and connivance in the City of Angels.
