nudity | 6/10 The film contains moderate sexual activity when a strange man creeps up to woman's bed and starts caressing her thigh. Soon he begins thrusting between her legs. The scene does not include any sexualised nudity or sight of genitalia or breasts. In another scene, a female character appears to receive oral sex from a man, as he slides downwards under a table in front of woman. Her facial expressions imply that man may be giving her oral sex. |
violence | 8/10 The violence are pretty graphic and gruesome at times. Not for the weak of heart. Several people are beaten. A man several times. He is then shot in the head with blood and brain splattering out (blink and you miss). Very graphic and gory. A girl is hit over the head with a metal pole several times. Blood is seen. A girl is hit across the head with a flashlight. A girl is stabbed to death, mostly off screen, but we see blood come out of her mouth. Two agents inspect underneath a dead body's fingernail by ripping it off. Very graphic. |
profanity | 7/10 Profanity is strong, but infrequent. |
alcohol | 10/10 Laura Palmer uses cocaine many times. Shown (graphic). One of the themes of this film is drugs, particularly cocaine. Teenagers are shown under the influence of drugs and alcohol, still drinking. One of them kills a man under the influence of the drug. Drugs are portrayed in a negative way. |
frightening | 8/10 This one is alot more downbeat and depressing than the TV series. As it tells the story of how Laura Palmer being killed. A steel rod suddenly busts a television. A girl finds that there is a man hiding in her bedroom. A girl's face suddenly turns ghastly. A man comes in through a girl's window and rapes her. A girl is murdered to flashing lights and very loud music, making the scene very intense. A girl is in her bed and looks next to her, and there is a bloody dead girl who is talking to her. This scene is a dream scene, but still very creepy. There are a few creepy and suspenseful scenes with 'supernatural' elements. The theme of 'demonic possession' may be particularly scary for some. |
