nudity | On a late night date, Mickey and Johnny go swimming they don't go fully nude. Johnny strips down to boxers, and Mickey to a shirt and panties. They kiss and caress while in the water, but sex isn't implied. They also kiss passionately at another time. A young high school baseball player says all he cares about is "banging chicks." He and other players make crude jokes. One includes making fun of a fat boy, if he had enough grease on his lunch, and the boy retorts, "I used up all my grease on your mother." A woman is sexually harassed in a bar. |
violence | In flashback, we watch Gus beat the molester to a pulp . He reacts similarly to the man who meets Mickey at the bar, forcing him against a wall, hitting him, and threatening him with a broken beer bottle. There is a brief car accident, but no fatal injuries. We see Gus with a bruised face and bandaged eye. Gus, nearly tripping over a coffee table, sends the piece of furniture flying with a kick. Mickey was nearly molested as a 6 year old, discovered by Gus. We see a man lightly caressing Mickey's back before Gus appears and begins beating the guy. |
profanity | One f-word and a half-dozen s***. A dozen uses each of "h***" and "a**." We also hear "bi***" and "bas***." Mickey calls her bosses at the law firm "jerk-offs." |
alcohol | All of the characters in the movie drink. Mickey and Johnny drink straight from a bottle of whiskey, and take shots of tequila at a bar. Gus drinks beer in many scenes, including visiting his wife's grave, pouring her a glass. He also has beer with breakfast. He also smokes a cigar. One spectator at a game is obviously drunk. |
frightening | The scene we hear of a man almost molesting Mickey is intense |
