A youth chooses manhood. The week Sam Witwicky starts college, the Decepticons make trouble in Shanghai. A presidential envoy believes it's because the Autobots are around; he wants them gone. He's wrong: the Decepticons need access to Sam's mind to see some glyphs imprinted there that will lead them to a fragile object that, when inserted in an alien machine hidden in Egypt for centuries, will give them the power to blow out the sun. Sam, his girlfriend Mikaela Banes, and Sam's parents are in danger. Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are Sam's principal protectors. If one of them goes down, what becomes of Sam?

A woman is sprayed in the face with an unnamed, thick yellow substance (semen is implied but there is no sexual activity). A woman implies deriving gratification from a car engine. There is a bizarre scene where a robot has a mechanical tentacle that extends from its body, and sticks it into a satellite. It's supposed to be a hacking scene, but the way it plays out, it comes across as very rape-like. |
violence | 6/10 Revenge of the Fallen is loaded with guns, grenades, pyrotechnics and mayhem, and it's a rare moment indeed when audiences aren't subjected to something being bashed, smashed or blown up. Much of the action involves machine-on-machine violence, and we see Transformers skewered, squashed, decapitated, ripped apart or nearly chewed up, all accompanied by copious amounts of gushing oil. When Sam is captured by Megatron, he's held down on a table and told he'll die painfully. One tiny, slimy robot slithers into Sam's mouth, and we see tendrils wiggle in his nose. Another robot brandishes a wee rotary saw, preparing to cut open Sam's skull. And when Sam, Mikaela and others run through a battle zone, Sam nearly gets killed by an explosion. About half-a-dozen combat scenes apparently kill soldiers, usually via explosions that hurl their bodies through the air (though one poor victim gets stomped on by a Decepticon). After a ship sinks, we see bodies in the water. Carsand their passengersget destroyed in a city battle. Several helicopters also go down during firefights. In the worldwide havoc unleashed by the evil robots, we're told that the death toll for one day of carnage hits 7,000. Other violent moments include several people getting tased. Sam's mom is attacked by a kitchen appliance and hits her head hard on a hanging plant as she flees from the robot. At a moment earlier in the movie, a soldier is sliced in half by a paper thin robot, blood hits the screen and it is quite graphic and disturbing. Near the end of the movie, a soldier is decapitated with a spear by a giant robot, the moment is very brief. |
profanity | 7/10 1 use of "fuck", 1 use of "nigga", a lot of uses of "ass", 6 uses of "shit", 4 uses of "bitch", 1 use of "pussy", 1 use of "bullocks" |
alcohol | People are shown in a party setting and alcoholic drinks are being poured for underage people, two people are shown with alcoholic beverages in front of them on a table, and an ad for beer is shown on a large jumbotron. |
frightening | Optimus Prime's death is intense. He is stabbed through the back and the shot through the back by Megatron. A small robot does surgery in a young man's head by sticking tool and robotic worms and bugs up his nose and mouth, which could appear very disturbing to young children. The action and violence throughout is intense. This film is okay for 14+ because there's some strong language and moderate sexual references. |
