The Zookeeper's Wife tells the account of keepers of the Warsaw Zoo, Jan and Antonina Zabinski, who helped save hundreds of people and animals during the Nazi invasion.
nudity | An infrequent, brief and discreet portrayal of female upper body frontal nudity is shown in a non-sexual context. The film contains a scene depicting a couple chatting in bed where female upper-body nudity is shown. In the scene, the woman's lower body is largely under cover but when she shifts her body, quick glimpses of her breast and nipple are visible. Contains a scene of the rape of a young girl by two Nazi officers, as well as the attempted rape of the main character. The first is not seen, but implied, as the girl is taken to an alley way by the officers and she is later seen with blood running down her legs and badly beaten and bruised. The attempted rape is taken as far as the women being thrown on the bed with the man between her legs. He stops before it actually happens. |
violence | The film contains some scenes of violence, portrayed without strong details. These include scenes depicting exchanges of gunshots, and a scene where two women are seen to be shot dead at the roadside. The film contains some scenes of rape. |
profanity | No profanity or use of religious names as profanity. |
