nudity | The resurrected souls of all that die in the movie can be seen at the end, in naked form. |
violence | The film has an incredible amount of graphic animated violence, with some acts leading to the death of major characters: A woman, who reveals she is pregnant earlier in the film, is shot in the head and dies. A man is slashed in the back by a sword. We don't see his wound, but he dies later from excessive bleeding. A man is shot in the neck, and we see blood through his helmet. He dies a while later in an explosion. A girl has her face ripped by shrapnel, she dies moments later. A woman is blasted out of a spaceship and dies in deep space. Numerous minor characters are either killed in explosions or shot to death throughout, including the major antagonist, who is betrayed by his men. Two boy pilots die when the giant robot they're using explodes - one of the boys turns into a pool of blood and the other is ripped to shreds by the blast. The robot's explosion is implied to have destroyed hundreds of planets across a section of the universe. One of the most extreme moments in the film, which will upset ALOT of viewers, especially mothers, is where a young child is beheaded by machine gun fire. Meteorites crash down on the homeworlds of either side, reducing them to barren wastelands. |
profanity | Minor curse words, including one emotional use of the word 'bitch'. |
frightening | Since this is an apocalyptic conclusion to an already controversial animated series, the violence and mood of the movie is dark and depressing. Many viewers will be disturbed at the incredible amount, and depictions, of death. Strangely enough, the film has an uplifting ending, despite the gruesome events going on. |
