Hollywood Movies | Drama | Comedy | Romance
nudity | A few kisses, including one of which the woman was resistant at first. A few minor comments that have a very slight sexual overtone e.g. upon seeing a large bed that has been broken, a character comments "Homeric!" |
violence | A boxing scene in a flashback in which a person is killed, but the scene highlights the serious gravity of the situation and is not graphic. A woman is dragged against her will approximately five miles with the occasional smack or kick on the butt. Along the way, a woman offers the man doing the dragging "a nice stick to beat the lovely lady." He doesn't use the stick. An extended and fairly comedic fist fight. |
profanity | Sean censors himself from a mild swear word (it half comes out before he changes it to a less offensive word which he also cuts off halfway through) because a lady is present. |
alcohol | Regular consumption of alcohol (beer and whiskey), especially by Michaleen, and Irish beer songs. There is a particularly comedic scene where Michaleen shows up very drunk at Mary Kate's house to propose the courtship of Sean Thorton. In one brief scene two of the primary characters are presumably intoxicated. Some smoking of pipes and cigarettes. |
