Shan, a mermaid, is sent to assassinate Xuan, a developer who threatens the ecosystem of her race, but ends up falling in love with him instead. A playboy business tycoon, Liu Xuan, purchases the Green Gulf, a wildlife reserve, for a sea reclamation project, and uses sonar technology to get rid of the sea life in the area. Unknown to him, the Green Gulf is the home of merpeople, and the sonar has caused many of them to succumb to illness or die. Xuan's business ventures in the area are threatened when he crosses paths with the mermaid, Shan, who is sent to avenge her people.

nudity Man's pants is pulled down, butt is shown for about two seconds. A woman tries to seduce a man. The man assumes the woman is a prostitute.
violence There are some scenes of violence depicting a group of men attacking various mermaids by firing at them as they are hiding in the water, resulting in some blood-letting underwater. A sonar technology activates and various merpeople get sick until their death. There is also an implied scene of a group of people surrounding an injured mermaid and hacking it to death. To prepare for battle, a poisonous arrow is shot on a man's chest but without details of bloodletting. He claims he is not feeling the effects while slurring his speech and foam comes out of his mouth. This is shown in a comical manner. A humanoid octopus mutilates himself to feed unsuspecting people when disguising as a chef. A scene where an assassination attempt goes comically unsuccessful, resulting in self-harm and getting caught. There is actual footage of dying sea-life
frightening This film revolves around a young mermaid who is tasked to kill a real estate developer for harming the marine ecosystem, but falls in love with him instead. Scenes involving mermaids getting killed off-screen can be unsettling. While the film is thoroughly whimsical and goofy, it eventually takes a very dark turn in the third act due to the environmental theme.
