nudity | A few scenes of sexual activity, all fairly brief. A woman is seen in a bathtub, leaning over the edge to read a magazine. We see nothing but her arms and bare shoulders. A woman is seen thrusting on top of a man. However, this takes up only the left hand corner of the screen, and the woman wears a nightgown. No nudity. A man is seen seen thrusting a woman in one scene. A man and a woman are seen in bed having sex, but only his back and her arms are seen. No nudity. A man and a woman have sex in the street, again no nudity or real detail. Just some thrusting and his bare back. A woman wears only a thin slip, without a bra, in one scene. The outline of her nipples can be clearly seen. A young woman trying to sleep is uncomfortable to have her roommate and her lover having sex in the same room. The man invites her to join them. She does not. A young woman is penetrated without any romantic prelude while sitting outside at night in a chair by a young man she barely knows. It is clear that she is in pain and experiences discomfort during the act. Later she is "taken" by the same young man up against the wall of a theatre while an opera is in progress. She still looks in discomfort. |
violence | A young woman is penetrated with no romantic prelude by a young man she barely knows while sitting outside at night in a chair. She appears to be in pain, confused, and in discomfort. This would clearly be rape if the leading man were not a popular star. |
profanity | One "S" Word. Several other words in foreign languages that are obviously cursing. |
alcohol | Several scenes of period accurate smoking. Two scenes where main characters drink wine. |
frightening | Several little children are sent out into the world to make their way to America, right before their village is burned. The children have to pay off soldiers stationed along the way, and the ones that don't are taken. A ship is bombed by a plane flying over head. An crying ,elderly woman is take away by soldiers in a vehicle, most likely to a concentration camp.Very distressing. One of the lead characters' family is taken away and he follows them. |
