Harriet (Shirley MacLaine) is a fruitful, resigned representative who needs to control everything around her until the dramatic finish. To ensure her biography is disclosed to her direction, she pays off her neighborhood daily paper to have her eulogy written ahead of time under her attentive gaze. Yet, Anne (Amanda Seyfried), the youthful columnist alloted to the errand, declines to take after the script and rather demands discovering the genuine realities about Harriett's life, bringing about an existence adjusting fellowship.
