Owens is reluctant to become involved but ultimately joins in with the law enforcement efforts
nudity | 2/10 A man and woman kiss passionately, a short scene. A man and woman began to kiss each other in a car, but they are interrupted. Before this scene, woman makes some sexual remarks and teases the man. In a relatively short scene, we see a young girl running with tight miniskirts, and a man makes a remark about her a*s. |
violence | 10/10 Once the action gets underway in earnest, the body count begins to quickly ratchet up. During the siege of an armored vehicle from which a convict is freed, a woman on top of the crane-hoisted magnet mows down police officers with a machine gun. Inside the vehicle, the convict kills two officers with his bare hands and feet. Once he's free, he corners an FBI agent, puts a gun to his head and brutally executes him, blood squirts out from his head. We see several more head-shot kills, complete with blood spatter and gore. A man plunges from a somewhere onto an assailant below, shooting him in the head and using the man's body as a makeshift "cushion" as he plunges through an awning to the ground. Another man is shot first in the ear, then again in the head at point-blank range. Several of the man's team members get shot, and someone tries to stop the blood flow from a gushing wound in one of them. Crashing through a police barricade, someone uses machine guns to cut down perhaps a dozen police officers. Someone takes out two pursuing police SUVs full of SWAT agents with some agile moves behind the wheel. Rocket-propelled grenades destroy two vehicles. An unlikely chase scene involves two cars racing through a cornfield and ramming a combine. Someone takes out a row of bad guys with a machine gun. Someone fires a gun at a man wearing a belt of bullets ammunition that starts cooking off when he's hit, then explodes, cutting his torso in half and hurtling body parts into the air. We watch as a limb of some sort lands on a man who's been wounded and trapped in the war zone (it's a scene that's played for humor, not horror). Someone shoots a bad guy in the back, killing him. Two men face each other in a fight which involves smashing fists, chokeholds, body slams onto a steel bridge, and multiple slashes from a knife. Both, at some point, end up with the knife bloodily embedded in a leg. |
profanity | 7/10 About 25 f-words. 30 s-words. Milder profanities include "ass," "hell" (which pops up more than a dozen times), "bitch" and "bastard." Ray labels the mayor a "shmuck" twice. A guy is derided for having his "dick in his hand." God's name is abused 7-8 times, while Jesus' name is misused 5-6 times. |
alcohol | 3/10 A few beer drinking by adults. |
frightening | 6/10 The shootouts, especially during the final showdown, are intense, as well as Owen's final confrontation with Cortez. It's sad and emotional when Bailey, one of Owens deputies, dies after being shot. Cortez shooting an FBI agent, knowing he has a pregnant wife, might also be upsetting to some. |
