nudity | On two occasions, teenage couples almost have sex, but are interrupted. No actual intercourse occurs. There is a fair amount of teenage girls discussing sex, but not explicitly. A teenage character takes a shower. She is seen through a shower curtain, but no nudity is actually shown. |
violence | The killer in the movie slits people's throats with a scalpel. The effects are very cheap, the blood is clearly fake, and these shots are much funnier than the filmmakers intended. Dead bodies are shown throughout the film in various locations, such as hanging upside down, or thrown out a window. They are covered in bright, fake-looking blood. On three occasions, characters are stabbed with larger knives, it is not very graphic. |
profanity | F*** is said about 10 times, but never in a sexual sense. S*** is said over 50 times. Other profanity is used sporadically. There are no gay characters in the film, but words like "faggot" and "homo" are used almost constantly during the first act of the movie as insults. |
alcohol | Teens drink alcohol and discuss it. The also talk about getting high, but drug-use is never shown on screen. |
frightening | The killer wields a bloody scalpel while looking into the camera trying to seem creepy, and might be disturbing to a child or an adult who is half-asleep or something. It's much tamer than it's meant to be. Some parts of the movie might be scary to some viewers, especially when characters wander the house trying to find other characters. Watching it with the Rifftrax commentary is awesome, and will make the movie even milder. Overall mature content rating: 25/50, mostly for the language. |
