A consistent family - Maria (Naomi Watts), Henry (Ewan McGregor) and their three children - go to Thailand to spend Christmas. They get a move up to an estate on the coastline. In the wake of settling in and trading endowments, they go to the pool, similar to such a large number of different visitors. An immaculate heaven excursion until a far off commotion turns into a thunder. There is no opportunity to escape from the tidal wave; Maria and her eldest are cleared one way, Henry and the most youthful another. Who will survive, and what will happen to them?
