With the Games destroyed, Katniss Everdeen, along with Gale, Finnick and Beetee, end up in the so thought destroyed District 13. Under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her friends, Katniss becomes the Mockingjay, the symbol of rebellion for the districts of Panem.
nudity | One notable item is a reference to a miscarriage. It is revealed that a very important character has been forced into sex slavery as a prostitute. The victim is still very disturbed by these experiences. Several brief kisses throughout. |
violence | A bombing scene occurs with little detail. People are also shown in a post-torture state: skinny, bald, bruised and with bloodshot eyes. A depressed character is seen making a hanging rope throughout the movie. Rebels are publicly executed by the government and are shot in the head point-blank while their faces are covered; we see bloody spray and bodies fall to the ground. In a fight scene a young man tries to kill a young woman, he smashes her against glass and throws her on the floor, attempts to choke her. The young woman survives after the young man is hit in the head with a large object; he too survives. |
