nudity There are four sex scenes in total, with only one having nudity, and the other not being related to them. A woman gets on top of a man while he is lying on a bed and kisses him. They are later seen having sex in it. She kisses his back and chest while lying atop him. The man, covered by a blanket, kisses the woman as she sits in his lap. They are shown in bed together again and it is implied they have had sex. The man sits on a couch, presumably nude, while the woman straddles him during yet another sexual encounter and he kisses her. She is covered by a jacket. Only her bare back is seen. The main character gets on top of a woman while she is sitting in a chair and has sex with her. He is completely naked, but we only see his bare backside. He thrusts her as both of them moan. A man sits in a teleportation device naked. The side of his behind is seen. Some sex talk.
violence During a sequence in the first half of the film where the main protagonists have just had sex, a computer chip becomes stuck on the man's back, making him jump in pain. The woman gently peels it off him and we see three small, bloody cuts on his skin. This is shown in a close up and lasts for a brief second. A baboon's skin is turned inside-out. It can be seen squirming and screeching in a pool of blood. A man arm-wrestles another man before breaking his arm so that the bone protrudes from the skin. Some blood shown. A man peels off his fingernails. Blood is not shown, but a pus like substance is secreted. A man's ear falls off. There is no blood. A man vomits white milky enzymes over a donut. A woman has a nightmare about aborting a giant maggot. It is covered in blood. A man's teeth fall out. He then places them in a collection of other detatched body parts. A fly creature vomits over a man's hand, reducing it to a bloody stump. He then vomits on the man's ankle, causing his foot to fall off. This scene is very gory. A fly creature has its jaw torn off, and its human eyes fall out, including its outer skin until it transforms. Almost no blood is shown though. A horrific amalgamated creature has a woman kill it with a shotgun in mercy. This scene is very disgusting, sad and disturbing. Deleted scene includes a horrific cat-baboon creature to attack Brundle-fly, it scratches a big open wound on his back (no blood). Brundle-fly then beats the creature to death with an iron pipe, some blood. Another deleted scene includes a fly-like leg emerge from Brundle-fly's torso, we see it penetrating through his skin. Brundle-fly amputates it, first ripping and finally biting it. We see some veins and skin torn apart.
profanity Modest amount of bad language. 2 or 3 uses of the "F"-word
alcohol Characters drink and smoke casually in the film
frightening The scenes in the gore section may disturb some. It is very hard to watch, even for adults; especially the scene with the baboon, the arm break, the maggot baby and the last 10 minutes, as is much of Brundle's physical decay. MPAA/USA(Suggested) - Rated R for Bloody Horror Violence, Brief Sexuality and Language. MPAA/USA - Rated R (no reason provided). BBFC/UK - Rated 18 (strong horror, violence).
