British reporters suspect an international cover-up of a global disaster in progress... and they're right. Hysterical panic has engulfed the world after the United States and the Soviet Union simultaneously detonate nuclear devices and have caused the orbit of the Earth to alter, sending it hurtling towards the sun.

nudity Very near the beginning of the film a woman is shown in a blouse with some of the buttons undone revealing some cleavage. Bill says to Pete, "Find yourself a girl Pete...find yourself a dozen." Pete: "I've got your permission have I "Dad" ?", Bill: "Permission?...my thoughts will be with you." Two men are eating supper and a waitress makes a joke to one of them (who is married) about him being fresh and then he watches her walk away and says "Some times I think I could...in fact, I'm sure I could." (could be fresh) In a newspaper we see a woman in a bikini. We also see a close-up shot of a woman's rear (she's wearing a bikini) pan out as she walks by another woman in a bikini top. The next scene see some women in one and two piece bathing suits sun bathing. Pete finds Jeannie sunbathing (she is revealing her legs and her abs) and lies down beside her. When Bill is talking to one of the other newspaper men he says: [1] "I've promised myself a night of booze and orgy for years. [2] Wheres this great exhibition going to take place? [1] I shall grope my way over to Harrys. [2] And whos the orgy going to be with, May? [1] If you can keep Harry busy." Jeannie is shown topless and is turned away from the camera but you can still see her breasts in a mirror on the far wall. And when she turns around she has a towel draped around her neck but you can still see a lot of her breast and the rest of her, waist up. Peter and Jeannie make out on a bed. (brief) Based on a viewing (according to the trivia section) of the edited - towel - version.
violence There are scenes of natural disasters throughout. A woman slaps Peter. A scuffle at a nuclear disarmament rally. A newspaper assistant collapses. A large riot breaks out. Peter beats up a gang of rioters who were assaulting Jeannie. None of the violence is graphic.

frightening Some of the scenes (mostly stock footage) showing the aftermath of the natural devastation - including dead and dying animals - may be disturbing to some viewers.
