With his oldest daughter's wedding approaching, a father finds himself reluctant to let go.
George Banks is an ordinary, middle-class man whose 21 year-old daughter Annie has decided to marry a man from an upper-class family, but George can't think of what life would be like without his daughter. He becomes slightly insane, but his wife tries to make him happy for Annie, but when the wedding takes place at their home and a foreign wedding planner takes over the ceremony.
When Brian first comes over to meet George and Nina he has his hands on Annie's legs, much to George's dismay. Not much of an issue. Later in the same scene Brian and Annie get ready to leave her parent's house while saying goodbye George says "don't forget to fasten your condom." What he's actually trying to say is seat belt. It should be noted that this scene was featured in the film's theatrical trailer, it is really the only objectionable thing in the movie, and as it stands very minor. Brian gives Annie a blender as a wedding present which she finds offensive and Brian later tells George, "I can see why she doesn't like it, a blender has a reference to 1950's sexual politics." Not too much to worry about there.
