nudity The Blair witch project is a great horror movie teens 13+ will most likely enjoy. There's frequent language but it's hard to hear and easy to miss. Also most of its used when people are scared. But the language is not a very big thing. The main thing is there is some blood and it's pretty scary and intense. But it should be fine for young teens and older A brief, comedic reference to an orgy.
violence We see what looks like bloody body parts (teeth, hair) wrapped in a shirt. We also see a dead mouse. A character is seen standing in a corner, which we have been told is the mark of a certain killer.
profanity Frequent language but hard to notice due to what's going on in the movie. Also used in non-sexual and frightened context. Several F-Words but most are hard to hear/notice and easy to miss also uses of "shit," "ass," "Goddamn," "hell," "Jesus Christ," "damn" and "oh my God," "asshole," "Jesus," "swear to God" and "oh God."
alcohol There is some drinking and smoking. There is discussion of drinking wine. One character briefly asks 'do we have any weed?' then the scene cuts
frightening As well as the film containing moderate to strong horror it also has some jump scares throughout involving the main characters being lost in the woods and presumably stalked by an unknown force which never manifests itself. This movie as a whole is also very intense. There are frightening noises in the night, and the "force" leaves objects outside the main characters' tent overnight. Strange stick figures appear in the trees. They look like human beings after they're hung. The main characters are awoken in the middle of night to voices outside, and their tent is violently pounded on. They are chased into the woods by an unknown person or persons. One characters goes missing after one night and never returns. Also, the ending which is set in an abandoned house filmed in a night mode point of view ends abruptly after viewing one character standing in the corner and the camera falling, leaving the actual fate of the characters ambiguous. The faux documentary presentation enhances the unsettling atmosphere, even though there is little to no gore in the movie. MPAA/USA - Rated R for language. BBFC/UK - Rated 15 (strong language, moderate horror).
