nudity | Geri (Patricia Pearcy) takes a shower, no nudity is seen until she steps out & begins to brush her hair when one of her bare breasts is visible for a few sconds. Later on Geri takes another shower, this time one of her bare breasts is seen as she bends down to turn the bath taps on. |
violence | Squirm is a very mild horror film. A human skeleton is seen on the ground and then later in the back of a truck. While handling fishing bait a worm bites Micks (Don Scardino) arm, there is a very breif shot of the worm attached to his inner arm and a small tricke of blood. Roger (R.A. Dow) grabs hold of Geri (Patricia Pearcy) and forcibly kisses her. Geri pushes Roger away from her and he falls backwards, he screams in pain and when he gets up there are several wroms burrowing under his skin on his face. The shot shows a couple of worms moving under his skin and some trickles of blood from the wounds, then there is another shot from a different angle where Roger grabs one of the worms and tries to pull it out but can't before he is seen to jump into a lake. Mick discovers the dead body of Willie (Carl Dagenhart), Mick opens Willie's shirt and the inside of his torso is a writhing mass of worms. No blood is seen although a couple of Willie's exposed ribs are. Roger picks Mick up over his shoulders and throws him down an embankment in a wood, Roger then throws a large piece of plywood on top of Mick and then throws two small logs onto the plywood. Roger grabs Mick round the neck, they struggle and Mick burns the side of Roger's face with a candle. No bood is seen neither is Roger's burn. Roger and Mick struggle with each other on a flight of stairs, they grab each other round the neck. Roger grabs Mick's leg as he tries to escape through a window and bites it, no blood or wound is seen. Mick then repeatedly hits Roger over the head with a torch, again no blood or wounds are seen. |
profanity | Squirm contains no strong profanity or bad language although there are minor explititives. |
alcohol | An underage girl named Alma (Fran Higgins) is seen lighting up and smoking, Mick (Don Scardino) joins her in the same scene. Sheriff Jim Reston (Peter MacLean) is seen smoking while in bed with a woman. There is no drug use although a few scenes are set in a pub where various people are seen drinking alcohol in the background. |
frightening | There are a few scenes where worms attack people which may be frightening to some otherwise none. |
