This film has a very dark and serious tone. two happy characters slowly slip into depression and fall out of love with one another as they go against their humanity for what they want.
When a man asks his wife about a scar on her back she recounts a story of when she was twelve and her house was burning down. She did not save her younger siblings. The story haunts her and is very sad.
A man shoots his own friend to please his wife
A woman has a miscarriage, blood is seen everywhere. She learns she will never have children again and she weeps with shock. You can feel the emotion and regret. She insists her husband get rid of the cradle and he smashes it with an axe.
A woman finds a picture of her husband's illegitimate son and becomes angry. She scratches at the faces in the photo with a knife until they're unrecognizable. this scene is slightly intense, as she is so angry she is shaking. You can see a madness in her face as the movie progresses.
A woman and her child are stalked by a dark character. He follows her onto a train, preparing to kill them both.
