violence | The violence in this movie is fairly bloody, although not particularly frequent, and there are a few gory scenes. Several creepy-looking scarecrows are shown throughout the movie. A man is discovered with a large hole in his chest (we see the large bloody cut); he hits a person repeatedly before being shot many times and dying. A man decapitates his dead body and rips his torso open; money is shown being stuffed in his chest and neck, as he digs in it with his hands and a knife (this sequence is graphic). In a later scene we see the severed head. Several dead bodies are hung on scarecrow posts. Scarecrows cut off several limbs and sow them onto themselves. A man has a sack pulled over his head, and is then stabbed in the face (bloody). People are stabbed with knives, pitchforks, saws, sickles, and other farm tools, usually with some blood. A scarecrow cuts off a man's arm as he screams (graphic). A man chased by a scarecrow has his leg stabbed repeatedly with a sickle (bloody). We see a zombie/man with a grossly disfigured face (the flesh around his mouth is partially missing). Gallons of blood drip from a parachute found in a tree, landing on a person, who ends up drenched. A man and a scarecrow are blown apart by a grenade. Scarecrows are blown up with shotguns. A man beats another man repeatedly. |
profanity | Non-stop fairly strong language, quite a lot of S-words and F-words, along with profanities like "Goddamn", "Asshole", "Bastard", "Motherfucker", "Bitch", etc. |
alcohol | Some random smoking. |
frightening | The scarecrows' appearance may frighten young viewers. A man and his teenage daughter are held hostage by a group of robbers. Rated R for Bloody Violence, Terror, and Strong Language. Suitable for ages 14 and up. |
