nudity | 4/10 A man enters the door of a bathroom where a woman is in a tub filled with water. She moves provocatively (we see her bare leg, thigh and hip). The man makes a suggestive remark and the woman invites him to join her. Nothing such happens as they are interrupted by the FBI. The woman gets up and wraps a towel around her. One of the agents orders her to put some clothes on. Any critical body parts are obscured by the camera angel. In an apartment we see a man who is partially undressed has two young women with him, and those three go into a room (we don't see anything else). We next see a man and a women lying on top of each other in bed hugging and kissing. he wears an undershirt and she begins to undress down to her slip. It cuts between them lying embracing talking, then we see them side-by-side, he behind, her face looks pleasured suggesting sex, slight movement and sensual kissing but no nudity or sounds. After they're done, the camera focuses on her butt in the slip as she stands up. Sex but no graphic nudity. |
violence | 7/10 Several shootouts involving Tommy guns, shotguns, B.A.R.'s, and .45 pistols. We see several people getting shot in these gunfights. We see blood splatter and sometimes their bodies. We see Pretty Boy Floyd get shot by Purvis with a rifle at long range (the bullet goes right through his body, bloody) and then we see him on the ground, dying, with a large bloody wound. Two federal agents gun down Nelson in a field. Later, we see him lying on the ground. This may be the most brutal violence in the entire film. The Little Bohemia shootout at night. It's dark, so we don't see any blood but several gangsters and cops are killed or wounded. We see some blood splatter as Van Meter is gunned. Earlier in the same gunfight, Nelson shoots and kills Baum, who is seen mortally wounded telling Purvis that Nelson shot him before he dies. When Purvis and Agent Madala gun down Nelson, you can make out at least seventeen bullet holes. Tommy Carroll is shot in the head, but he survives. FBI agents torture him--he screams and begs for medicine. This could be disturbing. There is a scene where Billie Frechette is tortured. It isn't really that bad, but it is still hard to watch. A man is shot in the back of the head, and the bullet exits through the front under his eye. We see him fall to the ground and blood pours out of the wound. In an earlier robbery, Dillinger is shot in the shoulder, and some blood is noticeable. Other gangsters later bandage the wound, and we see the bloodied bandage. |
