Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.
nudity | It is mentioned that Kimberly shared an explicit photo to her boyfriend with a crude remark about it, who in turn, shared it to the entire school. The photo is never seen, however. A girl cuts her own hair in the bathroom, then upon returning to class there are hoots and whistling. Two boys are heard talking about masturbating a bull; one boy mentions he milked her, but the other boy clarifies it's a "him," and that "one udder" was in fact not an udder. It is mentioned that it was kind of big and took two hands (a hand motion is made). No action of this is shown, but the bull's erect penis is flashed upon. The scene is non-sexual and is played for laughs. 16:30 - Kimberly removes her shirt to reveal a bathing suit before diving into some water. 01:08:10-01:12:28 - The campfire scene starts with all of the rangers. This is where Trini the yellow ranger discusses her relationships, and the other asks if she has either boyfriend troubles or girlfriend troubles. Per the director this is inferring that she either is Lesbian or bi-sexual or it could also be interpreted as confused. |
violence | Moderate portrayals of violence with some detail, are depicted. The film contains some scenes of violence, most of which depict property destruction, where characters throw punches and kicks, as well as perform body slams during fighting sequences. It's mostly just CGI destruction and rock creatures, so nothing too bad. Some of the stronger depictions include a scene where the main antagonist is seen to press her weapon against a human character's throat, causing pain to her victims and black veins to appear on their skin. In other scenes, characters are seen spitting blood as a result of injuring themselves due to falls or having suffered from a physical blow. It is mentioned that one of the main female characters punched an x-boyfriends tooth out, and that it was put back. |
profanity | The film contains an incomplete utterance of an expletive, as well as some instances of language such as the terms h**l, "bi**h", and "sh*t". The blue ranger prepares to shout the "M-F" word, but cuts himself off before fully completing it, stating that "yeah, 'mother's' good enough." Uses of "Oh My God" |
alcohol | A man mentions to a cop of being beer in the fridge if he wants any when he's done investigating a scene. |
frightening | There is a scene where Billy briefly dies after drowning and presumably getting messed up by Rita's energy blast, however, he is revived by Zordon There is a brief scene where a man argues with his son over his foolish choices he's made in his life. This might be a little intense and upsetting for sensitive viewers. Jason and Zack engage in a fist fight when Zack almost ran everybody over with his Zord and Zack shows no concern over it whatsover. |
