nudity | A man and woman are seen after sex, the woman sitting on the man's lap, both are naked and out of breath, but his hands cover her breasts and the sheets cover the rest, so nothing is seen. A birthday cake is made of two breast shapes. This is seen at two points during the movie. It is also frosted with "breast wishes", and a character says this to the birthday boy. Mild sexual jokes about this, including a man saying "I wanted to get you real ones". Several comments about "screaming orgasm" drinks. A man makes a comment about a woman's rear after she bends over. Shots scanning a woman in a bikini from her legs and upwards to a fully body shot, while she says she is hot and a man agrees. Her rear is in the front of the shot on the side. A man gets an idea to make a rope out of everyone's clothing, so the entire group of friends undress in the water. All but one are fully nude in the water for the remainder of the movie. Little of this nudity is actually seen. At one point, a man is underwater and his rear is seen several times, but frontal nudity is only vaguely seen once as a silhouette in the water. Two brief frontal shots of a man underneath the water as a woman tried to pull him back up. Not very clear, but there nonetheless. A boat passes by with two naked women dancing on top of it. Another man's rear is seen in the water from above. Pretty minor. There are brief shots showing nudity in the water, seen from above. This is minor. A woman is shown in and above water in her bra and underwear, as she was not in a bikini from the start. Some prolonged shots of this, but not in a sexual way. |
violence | A man is seen with blood coming out of the side of his face/ear. A man is stabbed; there are several shots of blood in the water. Blood also marks the side of the boat. Later, another character tries to wash this blood off with seawater. A man is punched in the face. A man punches the side of the boat, bloodies his hand. |
profanity | Mild profanity in jocular context. A man sings "For he is a jolly good a**hole". A lot of profanity used in the context of extremely stressful and panic-ridden moments. |
alcohol | Small amount of drinking and one character's discussions about smoking. Jokes about "screaming orgasm" drinks. |
frightening | Several frightening and disturbing scenes throughout the movie, related to drowning, moments of great tension, some fighting. A significant theme in the movie is the premise of drowning, which appears several times and carries an air of dread, hopelessness and death. Several scenes involving losing a loved one, sometimes getting very intense and emotional. Some scenes involving a child searching for her father in the water around her and crying, which are revisited throughout the movie. |
