The setting is sex farce: a young woman who is sleeping with three different men: two of them for financial advantage and one for love. She has to juggle them. The sex is frequently discussed, although not graphically; no sex shown. The heroine fights off sexual advances, including a fairly long scene where she is wearing nothing but a bathrobe and the man is naked under the sheets. The kissing scenes are sexy. No fondling of breasts or grinding, but one lover grabs her bottom briefly while they embrace. The heroine frequently wiggles to display her figure provocatively. Women using sex to get parts in a play or to be kept by a man they don't love is presented as acceptable, although not desirable.
Amy Adams as Delysia plays her part very sweetly. She does have some pangs of guilt concerning what she is doing by stringing the guys along, but needs help sorting everything out. |
