Lou Clark knows heaps of things. She knows what number of strides there are between the transport stop and home. She knows she prefers working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she won't not love her sweetheart Patrick. What Lou doesn't know is she's going to lose her occupation or that recognizing what's coming is the thing that keeps her rational. Will Traynor knows his bike mishap took away his yearning to live. He knows everything feels little and rather dismal now and he knows precisely how he's going to put a stop to that. What Will doesn't know is that Lou is going to blast into his reality in a mob of shading. Also, neither of them knows they're going to change each other for unsurpassed.

There is, however, the discussion of the decision made by the male protagonist to end his life due to the helplessness of his situation and the pain he has to endure. There is clear opposition to the idea by those around him. The film does not dwell on this in depth, with a very discreet portrayal of the protagonist's death. |
