The story of a Ronin (i.e. a masterless samurai) who wanders the countryside of Japan with his small child, having various adventures. In this first film of the Lone Wolf and Cub series, adapted from the manga by Kazuo Koike, we are told the story of the Lone Wolf and Cub's origin. Ogami Itto, the official Shogunate executioner, has been framed for disloyalty to the Shogunate by the Yagyu clan, against whom he now is waging a one-man war, along with his infant son, Daigoro.
nudity | - A woman nurses a child and her breast is seen. - A woman's breasts and a man's butt are seen as they have sex in front of some people. - A woman's breasts are seen and groped right before a man rapes her. The rape is not graphic but intense and disturbing as she screams throughout. Pretty misogynistic overall to any female characters. |
violence | Big spurts of blood after many people are attacked with swords. A graphic decapitation as well as blades penetrating bodies |
profanity | 'Shit, damn, turd, hell' are said at least once each (in subtitles). |
alcohol | None. |
frightening | - Intense scene where it's implied that a child is executed. - Some intense sword fights. Suggested MPAA Rating: R for bloody violence, sexual content, nudity, and some language |
