nudity | (4/10) Men are seen wearing only trousers in almost the entire movie. A lot of men are seen topless as well. This is in non-sexual ways, obviously. 05:40 A man and a woman are seen bathing naked from a distance. The side of her breasts are briefly seen. They then move towards each other and kiss passionately. Sex is implied. 06:00 The same couple are seen running on a beach towards the ocean naked. The camera is so far away that it is impossible to see private areas. 29:20 A man has two round fruits on his chest (a joke for female breasts). 1:46:30 A man is seen naked from the back. His buttocks are seen. |
violence | (8/10) A little boy almoast die from drowning in the opening scene. Not graphic whatsoever. A man is seen with a three leg. He talks about loosing it when he got frostbite. 33:10 A leg with a big wound is seen. The wound is infected and blood is seen both on the leg, and under it. 41:10 A man hurts his fingers when he work at something. No blood or anything. 42:48 A man get's seasick and he trows up. 44:50 dead fishes are seen on deck. 51:20 People are seen with blood and bruises on their bodies after a thunderstorm. See Frightening/Intense Scenes for more details. 57:20 A man trows a spear at a Whaleshark. The spear is seen penetrating the shark briefly. No blood is visible. 1:12:54 A parrot is eaten by a shark. No blood, and the scene is very sudden and brief. 1:13:58 A shark is impaled by a hook (a little blood is seen streaming out of the wound), the shark is then pulled on the raft, and a man sits down on it, stabbing it rapidly in the head with a knife. Blood is seen splattering out of the wound and it float down the shark and it creates a big pool. Another man then stabbs the shark in the belly, blood is seen splattering all over a man in the background and the wall behind him. The shark is then in graphic detail sliced open and the intensities are seen floating out of the shark. Three people are then seen covered in blood and blood is seen going trough the floor, making more sharks appear. One man falls into the water (Depending on how you interptet the scene, he may or may not have tried to commit suicide.) He survives. The entire scene is very graphic, not only because it's bloody and disturbing, but the voilence is put into realistic light. 1:18:35 The intensities of the shark mentioned above are then trown over board to lure the sharks away. The sharks fight to get a piece, and blood is seen coming from the intesities aswell. A fish being cut open is briefly seen on a montage close to the end. |
profanity | (7/10) From the original language Norwegian. On the English subtitles, the swearing has ben turned down (Replacing Fuck with Shit osv...) to get a PG-13 Rating. This is then from the original language, Norwegian. 6 Fucks 2 Shits 4 Hells 2 God Damns |
alcohol | (5/10) A scene takes place in a bar. We can see three people drinking beer. Five people drink liqour in another scene. Chapagne is seen on a table. Six people are seen toasting and drinking. A character is seen smoking in some scenes. Two people are sharing a smoke and another one sits in front of them and smoke aswell. Four people drinks whiskey. Whiskeyglasses are seen on a floor. Once again, a man smokes. |
frightening | (6/10) A scene starting at 34:00 is very intense. A man and a woman are trying to reach a boat from the inside of a jungle. The woman has a big, bloody wound (See Voilence/Gore for more details), so the man has to carry her. He also carries a important suitcase wich he drops, ruining the things inside. The entire sequence is very intense. 43:50 A little jumpscare when a shark is seen in the water. 48:31 Kon-Tiki drives into a thunderstorm and the crew struggles with it. A characther who can't swim falls into the ocean. He survives. The entire scene is very intense. 56:20 A large whaleshark approach Kon-Tiki. It's just swiming peacefuly, when a man trows a spear attached to the raft at the shark. The raft is then controlled by the shark for a little moment until the rope breaks. A little intense for the raft could easily been drawn under the water. All the scenes involving sharks (Nobody is killed or wounded by them). The parts involving sharks are 1:07:28, 1:10:50 and 1:13:58 (Extremely graphic) Especially one scene where one of the sharks is killed brutally on-screen. 1:13:58 The brutal, bloody killing of a shark. See Violence/Gore. 1:16:34 A man attempts suicide (depending on how you interpret the scene), the rest of the crew then struggles getting him on the raft again. 1:36:50 The crew are surfing over a reef. The scene is very intense and action packed. The ending scene where Thor opens a letter from his wife might be viewed as very sad and emotional. The end credits show information about the real Kon-Tiki crew. It adds some emotional value. The movie is also very emotional, and it sticks in your head. (30/50) |
