nudity | Katy Perry wears several short outfits that reveal nearly bare legs and some cleavage. In one dress, a short rifle barrel is attached to each breast area and these shoot out whipped cream or thick soapsuds. One outfit also reveals partial buttocks. There are a couple of instances of the skirts of female backup dancers flying up to reveal briefs. The star's mother looks horrified at a song, "I Kissed a Girl" (the repeating lyric is, "I kissed a girl; I liked it"). She also says she will not watch Perry on TV if Perry has half her clothes off. A female singer sings repeatedly, "Are you brave enough to let me see your peacock?" while backup singers repeat "peacock" 20 times and we see adults in the audience laughing. A female trainer stretches a singer's thigh muscles. Staffers watch and laugh, saying the action looks inappropriate (like being in stirrups in an OB-GYN office). |
violence | Two different women portray a comically awkward teenager with huge braces on her teeth, a halo dental apparatus, blotchy skin and broken glasses. At a Japanese restaurant, a woman eats a live crayfish. |
profanity | A repeated sexual euphemism ("peacock" in reference to "penis" repeated over 20 times in a song) and 13 religious exclamations. |
alcohol | A dinner scene features a dozen men and women drinking tropical alcoholic drinks. Russel Brand is shown with a cigarette. |
frightening | A couple of emotional scenes when Katy is crying or upset. In one scene, Katy talks to a little boy from the Make-a-Wish Foundation whose wish was to meet her. Some people might be a bit emotional when Katy is speaking of her heartbreak with Russell Brand. |
