nudity | There are topless/naked women in a bar. The lighting is a bit dark but one can make out just about everything. 3/10 |
violence | There are many scenes mainly in the first hour where terrorists shoot random civilian gatherings, such as: Two 'police officers' fire their shotguns on a Christmas gathering, killing several people, but making it a point to keep a few alive. A bomb explodes in a crowded mall, which is followed by a shootout between terrorists and the main hero. Terrorists plant a bomb on the side of a school bus full of children, but the hero takes the bomb before it can explode and slaps it on the terrorists' car, which blows up the car. At the beginning of the film, a boatload full of Cuban immigrants is slaughtered by terrorists disguised as US Coastguards, including women and children. A major shootout in front of a government building erupts between terrorists and the military while the main hero battles the terrorist leader (and some of his goons) inside. A man is obliterated by a rocket launcher. A terrorist destroys several suburban family homes with a rocket launcher. After the attack, many wounded people are screaming for help and a few children can be seen stumbling out of their burning homes. The terrorist leader has a nasty habit of shooting sticking his gun down people's pants and shooting them in the crotch. A prostitute is snorting cocaine; a man slams the straw up her nose and kicks her out a window, and then he shoots another man at point blank range. Several more scenes where people are killed by bombings and shootings, as it is a very violent film (although the violence is done in a comical, over-the-top way). This is one of those movies that probably would not be well-received today due to the increased awareness of terrorism. Because of that, some people may become upset with the content. 8/10 |
profanity | 5 "h" words 2 "a" words 2 "d" words 3 "b" words 8 "s" words 1 "g*d d*mns" 4 usages of bastard 6 "f" words, however, 4 of the usages are hard to hear as they are muttered, but there are 2 very distinct "f" words that are spoken by a woman on the street who is yelling at Chuck Norris' character. |
alcohol | A woman is seen snorting cocaine near the beginning. Several people are seen drinking and smoking. 4/10 |
frightening | The film's strong content and themes may upset some viewers. Many innocent people are shot to death and blown up. A school bus full of children is nearly blown up. A church full of families is nearly blown up. A neighborhood where children are explicitly shown to be with their families is destroyed by a rocket launcher-wielding terrorist. The survivors are later seen crawling/stumbling out of their burning homes. The overall tone and violence may be considered unsettling. 14+ 7/10 |
