nudity | Recommended Rating: PG-13 for violent content and some language. 2/10 Passionate kissing between a husband and wife. |
violence | 6/10 A man beats bullies with the lids of trash cans (the camera cuts away before impact, but the assaulter is shown washing the blood off of his hands). A man has a heart attack while driving a car. He dies in the street. A drunk father abuses his sons physically and verbally as kids and adults. He is heard slapping his younger son (while the other is hiding under the bed.) As an adult, the latter son fights back and slams the dad against a wall. There's a fire at an amusement park, but no one is shown getting hurt. Soldiers are taken as prisoners of war by the Japanese in a forced labor camp in the Philippines during World War II. They are beaten by the Japanese (intensely, but not graphically). One sick soldier is shot offscreen by Japanese officers. Another sick soldier is then executed in front of his friend by a Japanese officer. The soldiers escape by brutally beating their captors (one Japanese officer is beaten in the head with a rock onscreen quite bloodily, but briefly. Another soldier then shoots him to get his friend to stop beating him). A man steps on a land mine that explodes (he isn't shown being killed, though the explosion is shown). A man catches on fire while entering a burning cabin, but is saved. A man attempts to assault a woman while she is dressing (she has her underwear on), but her husband returns just as he places his hands on her. |
profanity | 3/10 "Hell", "SOB", and "bastard" are used several times. |
alcohol | A man drinks and gets drunk to the point of beating his children. |
frightening | Several of the aforementioned scenes of violence will be intense. Other scenes that revolve around death, sickness, and nightmares will be too mature for kids. |
