Hollywood Movies | Drama | Thriller | Horror
nudity | This film contains partial female nudity and full-frontal male nudity. It contains two graphic depictions of a killer having sex with severed heads and off-screen incestuous rape between a son and mother (audible but not seen). |
violence | This film contains excessive violence and gore, including multiple graphic murders and dismemberment, as well as off-screen (audible) murders. Most of the violence is witnessed by a child character and at one point a child character is bound and gagged. Other points of violence and gore include an assault with a shovel to the head, vomiting, a killer bathing in blood (and then having vigorous sex with a severed head), and intense physical violence among family members (child abuse and off-screen rape). There is a shot in the movie of a boy tied to his bed, multiple gruesome close-ups of mutilated body parts are shown, the camera reveals that parts of his dismembered parents (who have been chopped up into quite a few pieces) are stacked all around him and on a pile on top of him, and his parent's bloody severed heads (their eyes are also gouged out) have been propped up on either side of his head (the boy is alive). Very graphic and disturbing. |
profanity | This film contains a great deal of profanity, including many instances where profane words are said by child characters. The film contains themes of racism and homophobia, multiple uses of the words faggot and nigger. |
alcohol | One character smokes a cigarette in a scene and a couple of scenes contain marijuana paraphernalia. |
frightening | As the film centers around a young boy and his serial killer brother, the entire movie should be considered too intense for most children. The protagonist boy is constantly worried that his brother might kill him and the third act of the movie puts this boy through many horrific, emotional ordeals. |
