Hollywood Movies | Drama | Romance | Music
nudity | None, there is one scene where the daughters are in their slips but nothing is shown. |
violence | No real violence occurs in the film, but many intense moments. Just before the end of the first half, a pogram is held against the Jewish village, the scene is not graphic or very violent, first they break up a wedding by pushing over tables, ripping up table cloths and scaring people away, the only violence that happens is a man is hit on his head by a candlestick and then the chaos ends as The Constable stops the distruction from going any further. Moments later we see the rest of the Pogram with a wagon being set on fire, windows smashed, and property destroyed, this lasts around 20 seconds and is not very violent but more intense. Russian Soldiers break up a protest by drawing their swords and attack the croud, no one is killed or seriously injured, but hit with the sword like a club. |
profanity | None |
alcohol | There is a lot of drinking in a bar scene. At least a couple of men appear drunk. |
frightening | There is a dream sequence that takes place in a graveyard. All of the departeds pop out of graves, but they aren't evil or menacing. The whole sequence is in song, and it is so comically over-the-top, that it won't be scary for most. The Pogram scene is quite intense as the Russans attack the Jewish half of the village. |
