frightening | The film, although G rated, can be emotionally intense at times, such as when Dumbo's mom is taken away from him, they are both clearly upset and want to remain together, but can't. However, the has a great message to give to little children. You should not tease someone for any reason, because anyone can reach their goal if they try. The infamous pink elephant scene. Although this is neither intense or frightening, there is some racism in this film. The crows talk and act like stereotypical African American people. One of the crows, Jim Crow, was named after Jim Crow Laws, which were laws that limited African American's rights. Keep in mind, this film was made and released at a time when it was funny for cartoons to be racist and degrading. At least the crows want to be support of Dumbo flying. BBFC - (U): infrequent scenes of emotional distress. |
