nudity | There's a light sex scene at the start of the film. |
violence | The only reason why this film is rated R is because two ladies have their ring finger cut off. The first one we only see about to happen. The clippers close around the finger and then the scene ends. The second we see the aftermath. The lady wakes up to find her hand bandaged and a fair amount of blood drops on the bed. She pulls the bandage off to reveal her finger missing (slightly disfigured). Later, two guys bandage her hand back up. An old guy kills two goldfish, one of which he steps on. Presumably the other suffocates without water (which went flying after the old guy threw the bowl against the wall). A lady gets choked presumably unconsciously. The struggle lasts a bit. A man gets stabbed to death (very little blood). We see a dead lady (slight gory, disfigured) Another man gets stabbed in the back and also gets his leg trapped in an animal trap (slightly bloody). Another lady is presumably knocked out, but it is implied she has been killed. A guy gets a cast removed from his leg. We see some slight bruises as the cast is removed. |
profanity | Very little profanity. Hell and damn are used once or twice each. |
alcohol | Moderate use of each. A lady is given drugs to knock her out. There's smoking and drinking here and there. |
frightening | The second half of the film is a bit intense as the main character desperately fends for her life. She has her finger cut off later and then the old men lie to the police saying she's delusional. They move the evidence to her room startling her even more. There are animal furs and mannequins thru/o the mansion which might upset some. Also the scene where the old guy kills the goldfish can be quite upsetting. The final fight with the old guy lasts quite awhile. This film would probably be rated PG-13 today although a very harsh and brutal PG-13. |
