Forbin is the fashioner of an extraordinarily complex PC that will run the greater part of America's atomic protections. Not long after being turned on, it identifies the presence of Guardian, the Soviet partner, beforehand obscure to US Planners. Both PCs demand that they be connected, and in the wake of taking protections to save secret material, each side consents to permit it. When the connection is built up the two turn into another Super PC and debilitate the world with the prompt dispatch of atomic weapons on the off chance that they are segregated. Giant starts to give its arrangements for the administration of the world under its direction. Forbin and alternate researchers shape a mechanical imperviousness to Colossus which must work underground.
nudity | A woman and a man are forced to undress. The camera is carefully placed to hide most of their nudity but there is a fleeting glimpse of the side of the woman's breast and the man's buttocks (Only 1 or 2 seconds). Nothing sexual. A man and a woman are in bed together, she asks him to kiss her. They embrace and continue kissing. |
violence | A large town is destroyed by a nuclear missile after it is activated inside the silo. We only see a large flash and hear an explosion, and then we're told how many people lived in the town. It is strongly implied that a missile destroys an oil plant off screen. A man is shot by Russian agents. Nothing graphic. Two men are gunned down by a firing squad wielding pistols. Somewhat graphic, but nothing over-the-top. |
profanity | Some scarce, mild language here and there. ('Damn,' 'bastard,' etc.) |
alcohol | Quite a bit of social drinking. We see martinis being made and consumed on a few occasions. On one occasion Dr. Forbin mixes himself what looks like a scotch and water, Colossus tells him he has consumed enough alcohol and to go back to bed. It starts a bit of an argument between the two. |
frightening | The whole film involves a super computer taking over the planet by force, and we follow the humans' apparently futile struggles to fight back. The entire film remains suspenseful throughout. |
