nudity | R for Strong Graphic War Violence including a Rape Scene, Some Disturbing Sexual Content, and Language Sex/Nudity (Mainly For A Rape Scene) 8/10 A teenage girl is violently raped by a man while several other men watch. Her bare buttocks can be seen, and so can the rapists. After the rape the girl is seen nude from the rear with only a small blanket covering half of her behind. A man then tells several other men to rape the girl. A man then undresses, and his buttocks are shown, and briefly his penis. He turns the girl over almost exposing her nipples, then gets on top of her and is very briefly shown raping her but the fifth soldier refuses Sexual references and references to rape throughout. Casualties Of War is a very intense film. Not for emotional people! |
violence | Violence/Gore 10/10 Some war violence, quite strong sometimes. Images of an army hospital including severed arms & legs. Might disturb some. The war violence is extremely disturbing partly because of the threats Eriksson takes in from Tony Meserve. The gunfights are quite depressing because the teenage girl is suffering while watching the fights and loads of explosions happen as well including that this is real life. Meserve saves Eriksson's life by taking him out near the tunnel and Meserve killed the vietnamese soldier Max Eriksson hits Clarke round the face with a shovel. Tony Meserve elbows Eriksson on a bridge which he could of fallen down. Meserve orders Hatcher to kill the Vietnamese girl but Eriksson stopped them by shooting the M-16 in the air because the helicopters were near and to stop them from killing the girl One of the soldiers killed the Vietnamese girl because she tried to escape Also some intense battle scenes involving blood spatters and severed limbs. Not quite on the scale of Saving Private Ryan, but very close only this movie is more realistic than Saving Private Ryan. They're probably as bad as each other. |
profanity | Profanity 9/10 The language is pretty harsh. About 50 or so F-words are used and other harsh profanity but no C-words. In the extended version, Michael J Fox aggressively shouts out the F-word in court but the prosecutors keep pushing him mentally until he flips |
alcohol | Marijuana 7/10 Smoking cigarettes/marijuana & drinking. |
frightening | Intense Images 10/10 The whole movie is intense. I wouldn't recomend it to people under the age of 15. Explicit Content 43/50 The theatrical version in UK contains strong language and violence. The extended cut in UK contains strong language, sexual violence and moderate violence This film would still get an 18 for Strong Language, Strong War Violence, Frequent Bullying And A Scene Of Sexual Violence. That's my opinion. |
