nudity | From the plot it is clear that sex and nudity occur and form a key part of discussion in the film, with Joseph Svenden (47) simultaneously involved with Rosealee, a fellow teacher, and Catherine, a sexy 17 year old pupil. There are several scenes clearly showing Catherine (and Svenden) topless and making love, one with Catherine naked on a horse and one including full frontal nudity for Svenden and Rosealee. The scenes are clear, but not intensely graphic. |
violence | Guns feature in this film, particularly hunting. Wild birds are seen shot and brought in dead. Later a horse burns to death (the flames are clear, but the animal can't be seen clearly). A wolf is held in gun sites, but not shot. |
profanity | Most of the conversation avoids profanity, but in contrast in some parts there is profanity, particularly intensive use of the word f**k (in its real meaning). Svenden also uses G*d, J***s C****t and J***s quite frequently. A**h***e is also used several times in one scene. |
alcohol | Frequent smoking. Svenden also frequently drinks and is shown drunk several times. Catherine's mother is discussed (and shown in one scene) as a drunk. |
frightening | See violence and gore. The film builds considerable suspense over a possible shooting. An elderly mother is sick and in pain and her death is discussed. Her funeral is shown later. A barn burns down and a man goes inside to attempt to rescue two animals. |
