violence | 6/10 A girl dies from poisoning. A man is shown bleeding in a bathtub and then his head is forced in the water and he drowns. A man is suffocated with a cloth and he dies. Many people are whipped throughout. A woman is slapped. A man is stabbed many times and he staggers around then he is stabbed several more times by spears. Very bloody. |

frightening | 6/10 The main character acquires his throne through manipulation and the intentional suffocation of the dying emperor. He slowly loses his sanity over the course of the film, and brings about many strange policies and decisions. Several characters' lives are in jeopardy at one time or another. There are several versions of this movie. Some versions are done through alternate angles and some cut violent scenes. PG version 104 min. This version has little to know blood and had alternate versions of all violent scene and cuts all scenes of partial nudity. R-rated version 102 min. This version has a lot of blood and has all of the partial nudity scenes. this version should be Pg-13 by today's rating system but is very violent it will have to depend on your child and if they can handle it. Some may find Caligula's death upsetting. |
