nudity | No sex or nudity at all. However, there is a park scene that has multiple shots and even a close-up of women playing volleyball in bikinis and thong bikinis. The scene continues with the same women running. |
violence | Some moderate sci-fi gore and violence. This movie is about a big (ass) spider so expect scenes of destruction and blood. We see a spider pierce the flesh of a human w/ blood spurt, not really gory but definitely not suitable for sensitive minors. We see the bite wound on a mans neck from a spider attack, pretty disgusting but it is not dwelled on. We see the rib cage of a skeleton which is covered in spiders web, quite sudden and unsettling. Nothing that a 13+ kid wouldn't be able to cope with. |
profanity | PG-13 level language, nothing strong, mainly the a-word is used and a couple uses of b**ch |
alcohol | No explicit material. |
frightening | Quite an eerie movie, we see the spider creep up on people and cause destruction quite a lot which will unsettle sensitive viewers. The most intense part of the movie is about 9 minutes in when we see an object moving inside a body bag, we then see the bag unzipping from the inside, followed by 2-3 long spider legs slowly climbing out of the bag. Eventually the spider gets out and attacks a nearby hospital worker. This scene is very tense and unsettling. Please bare in mind that this film is meant to be fun and so is not to be taken too seriously. The destruction scenes are quite cheesy and overall the film has a 'lets have night in and be entertained' feel to it. Not suitable for under 13's, do not watch if you have a phobia of spiders. Seriously this thing is big, black and badass. |
