| nudity | There is no sex whatsoever shown in this movie, as Bettie Page never did anything pornographic, but beautiful, tasteful nude pictures and vintage film clips are shown throughout the film. The nude pictures include both partial nudity (breasts and buttocks) and also full nudity (where her pubic hair can be seen, and even a few pictures where some of the vulva/clitoris can be seen through her pubic hair when her legs are apart). The nudity is very beautiful and the pictures are joyous, good clean fun, promoting the most positive presentation of the female form. Most parents would consider the nudity innocent and harmless, suitable viewing for anyone over the age of 12. This film received a 14A rating in Canada (suitable for anyone over the age of 14 to view alone, or parental accompaniement for children under the age of 14), and received a R rating by the MPAA. (as the MPAA is very repressive towards female nudity and female sexuality. Nonetheless, considering that some vuvla/clitoris is visible in a few images, the fact that this was passed with an official R-rating by the MPAA actually represents some progress). |
