nudity | Cleopatra wears clothes that reveal a lot of cleavage. Twice her bare back is shown down to the point that crack between buttocks is already visible. A woman kisses Asterix on the forehead, cheeks and lips behind a curtain. Caesar and Cleopatra talk about checking out the numerous bedrooms in the palace, then kiss passionately and somewhat comically. |
violence | The movie features many comical fights and battles with a lot of cartoon-style violence. The soldiers are equiped with swords and pikes. Characters are often punched in the face or thrown in the air. There are, however, no deaths, no wounds and no blood. Namely, everyone survives fights, some characters complain about being in pain. Several times someone is threatened by another character, either verbally or by choking. |
profanity | No swear or dirty words, only some childish name-calling. |
alcohol | Characters order drinks and drink from cups. It is not said what kind of drinks these are. Characters drink and act under the influence of a magical potion which gives supernatural strenght, agility and speed. A slave is sick from having eaten a poisoned cake. During the closing credits we see short scenes from a party. A drunk character is trying to tell a joke to a woman at the party. |
frightening | Nothing really intense but: The scene where Astérix, Obélix and Panoramix are lost in the pyramid may in some way be intense for young viewers. The pyramid being destroyed may in some way be intense for young viewers as well. A lamb is being fed to crocodiles and Numérobis is threatened with the same kind of death. In one shot it is alive, in another there is nothing left of it except the harness. It might upset small children as well as animal-loving adults. |
