Two narratives -- the life cycle of a mother walrus and her calf, and the life of a polar bear and her cubs -- are used to illustrate the harsh realities of existence in the Arctic.
Arctic Tale is a 2007 documentary film from the National Geographic Society about the life cycle of a walrus and her calf, and a polar bear and her cubs, in a similar vein to the 2005 hit production March of the Penguins, also from National Geographic.
**Spoiler: part way through the movie, "little brother" bear collapses from hunger and exhaustion and dies. Mother bear and "Nalu" (the sister) have to go on without him. Could be very disturbing to young viewers.
