nudity | Rhoda and John begin an implied love affair due to a sex scene. We see the two passionately kiss and caress, and move somewhat explicitly. There's no nudity, but we do see Rhoda in a shirt and panties briefly. They cuddle (clothed) later. Rhoda, in a sort of trance, strips naked in an ice field. We see her bare shoulders and torso (from the back), and briefly glimpse her backside (partially hidden in the shadows) and a side view of her breast (partially covered by her hair and shadows). |
violence | Rhoda gets into a car accident, killing a pregnant mother and child, leaving the father in a coma. We see Rhoda, badly bruised and partially bloodied trying to walk, and a car (the family's car) with the windshield smashed in and torn open, and the bloodied faces of John and his wife. We see their son (lying face down) in the roadside nearby. John, when he realizes what Rhoda had done (years later) pins her against a wall and nearly strangles her. We hear of a peer of Rhoda's who poured bleach into his eyes and ears. We see the man later, with bandages over his ears. |
profanity | "My God" (as an exclamation). |
alcohol | John and Rhoda toast some alcoholic beverage, and its implied John drinks frequently. Rhoda's brother asks her if she wants to "get high," but he doesn't mean in the drug sense. Rhoda drives drunk. |
frightening | When the scientist makes first contact with Earth 2, it can be very unsettling to some people as she is actually talking to her self. The car crash scene is intense Two moments with John in anger are a little jumpy |
