Theory teacher Walter Zarrow is injured amid a robbing. With an end goal to escape he rings bells aimlessly, waking Sam, a moderately aged father of two taking part in an extramarital entanglements in the city. Sam reluctantly answers Zarrow's requests, and Zarrow loses awareness in his arms. Through an investigation of why these men, alongside the mugger, and a junkie named Joe, meet up, we investigate New York City. The experience of Zarrow, Sam, Joe and Zarrow's attacker swell rapidly out to incorporate the associated lives of a housewife battling with liquor addiction, a stoner teenager frantic to lose his virginity, a splendid yet fizzled author battling compulsion, two guardians standing up to the possibility of terminal disease, and a splendid graduate understudy who wounds herself to feel invigorated.
