In light of the universal smash hit book. The genuine feel great story of how James Bowen, a busker and recouping drug fanatic, had his life changed when he met a stray ginger feline.
nudity | None |
violence | A man is seen slumped on a pavement. He has overdosed on drugs. A fight breaks out, just scuffles. |
profanity | The film DOES NOT contain any strong language (such as 'f**k'). There is some use of mild bad language - including uses of 'bloody', 'bullshit', 'dickhead', 'piss off', 'screw yourself' and 'shit'. |
alcohol | Only discreet depictions of illegal drug use are featured in the film, as well as being under the condition that such depictions do not promote or endorse drug abuse in any way, and are justified by context. The film contains several references to drug use, but it is portrayed as a consequential act and is not encouraging.. In one scene, a man takes out a packet of white powder and shows it to his friend. The two of them then pass out in a car, with white powder on their nose and lip areas subsequently seen. In another scene, a man lies motionless on the sidewalk, with a used syringe next to him. His friend tries to resuscitate him but realizes that he has died from a drug overdose. On the whole, as the film touches on the protagonist's rehabilitation process, it clearly discourages drug use and portrays the dangers of drug addiction. As such, it would be appropriate for a teen audience. |
frightening | 2 men have clearly taken drugs (see above). A man hallucinates and is seen "fitting" whilst coming off drugs. MPAA/USA - Not Rated. BBFC/UK - Rated 12A (moderate drug references). |
